Students who are wishing to bring a guest to Fall Ball who is not a student of Kearney High School must fill out the form below. The forms are due by the end of the day on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2010. Forms should be turned in to the Main Office. If a form is not received by this date and time, guests will not be admitted to the dance. REMINDER: All students must have their student ID to get into a KHS Dance.

Kearney High school will hold auditions for positions on the 2010-11 Bearcat speech team.  Tryouts will be Wednesday, September 22, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in room 22.  Prospective team members must have a completed speech to audition.  After-school clinics are held every weekday from 3:30 to 4:30 in room 22. 

The Bearcat speech team competes both regionally and nationally, with an invitational season commencing in November and ending in March with the NSAA State Speech Contest.

The renowned "John Baylor Test Prep" course will be offered at KHS this fall prior to the October 23rd ACT test. We are pleased to have Mr. Baylor return to KHS for his course that better prepares students for the ACT and enhances a student's chances for a better score on this national test. Students and their parents have attested to the fact that "Baylor Test Prep" has helped students in their preparation. The course will be offered at KHS in the math area on the following dates:

Dawn Weatherwax-Fall, author of The Official Snack Guide for Beleaguered Sports Parents and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Sports Nutrition will be speaking at Kearney High School. The community, athletes, parents, coaches, and everyone interested in Sports Nutrition is invited to attend. Dawn will be available for questions following the presentation

Dawn Weatherwax-Fall (RD, CSSD, LD, ATC, CSCS) is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian with a specialty in Sports Nutrition and Founder of Sports Nutrition 2Go. She is also a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, which is the premier professional sports nutrition credential in the United States. In addition, she is an Athletic Trainer with a Certification in Strength and Conditioning from The National Strength and Conditioning Association. She brings a comprehensive and unique understanding of the athlete's body, and its nutritional needs, to those interested in achieving specific performance goals and optimal health.
