Block Two English IV
Grade Level: 12; Course Credit: 10; Prerequisite: English III
English IV, an elective, is a study of the English heritage through literature. The first term of this 10-hour course
covers the Anglo-Saxon, Medieval, Renaissance and 20th CenturyPeriods with emphasis on the Beowulf Poet, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton, and Orwell. The second term continues the chronology of the first semester, but also includes a comprehensive research project emphasizing skills presented in the MLA Handbook. (This class meets the full 1 unit post-secondary admission requirement.)
