Mrs. Rehtus - KHS Math Teacher

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  My name is Mrs. Tammy Rehtus and I teach Honors Pre-Calculus, Algebra 2, and Algebra 1B at Kearney High School. 
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education - Mathematics from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2001 and will earn my Masters of Curriculum & Instruction - Mathematics from Chadron State College in 2021.  Overall, I've been in education for 18 years.  My experience includes the following:
  • Fremont High School (5 yrs)
  • Central Community College - Hastings Campus (Adjunct - 6 yrs; Faculty - 2 yrs)
  • Horizon Science Academy High School - Columbus, Ohio (3 yrs)
  • Kearney High School (2 yrs)
Overall, I have a thorough knowledge of the mathematics curriculum as well as experience reaching the struggling student to challenging the honors student!
My husband, Ben, and I have 4 children.  Brigitte is a college sophomore and is transferring from the University of Cincinnati to the University of Nebraska Medical Center; Blake is a junior at Kearney High School; Kaitlyn is a 7th grader at Sunrise Middle School; and Cole is a 5th grader at Meadowlark Elementary School.
