Nicole Peterson » Welcome!!

Welcome!!

I'm Niki Peterson, a school social worker with Kearney Public Schools since 2007. I have had the privilege of working with various schools in the district serving preschool, elementary and high school students.

I am a 1990 KHS graduate and am happy to be a Bearcat again!! I am married to my husband, Jim and have three children, Alexia, Keegan and Karson. I enjoy being around my family and friends. You will find me camping a lot during the summer and at coffee shops during the winter.

As a social worker...I am an advocate. A resource. A listener. An educator. A supporter. I am here for you as well as parents. This may mean, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, foster mom or dad. I am here to brainstorm, point you in the right direction, or be a listening ear. My goal is for all students to be as successful as possible both inside and outside of the school setting.

I currently serve Kearney High School. I received my undergrad degree in social work through the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I received my masters in social work through the Grace Abbott School of Social Work in Omaha. Since becoming a social worker, I have had the opportunity to work with many different populations. My absolute favorite part of being a social worker is being able to build relationships and make connections with not only the students, but their families as well.
