The Kearney High School Dance Catz, led by Head Coach Meggie Rusher, proudly serve as ambassadors for their school and community. They perform at school and community events, promote school spirit, and provide entertainment for both KHS fans and visiting teams. The team’s season runs from May to March, with tryouts held each April for the upcoming year. In addition to their competitive season, the Dance Catz host several fundraisers and community events throughout the year, including the annual Dance Catz Golf Classic each summer and the popular Kitten Camp during the winter, where elementary students are invited to perform alongside the team.  The Dance Catz also actively serve their community through volunteer efforts at events such as Breakfast with Santa for the Kearney Area Children’s Museum, the Nebraska Girls Basketball Showcase, Crane River Theater, and local parades, among others.
