Is participation in JROTC activities required for course enrollment?
JROTC co-curricular activity PARTICIPATION IS NOT REQUIRED; however, they are strongly encouraged to learn the value of teamwork and allow students to earn awards and recognition within the program. The program should have something for everyone, and the best part is that a student can pick and choose what activities they wish to participate in.

Will a student be required to follow military grooming standards?
Adherence to military standards will be be encouraged, but WILL NOT BE MANDATORY. When wearing the JROTC Cadet Uniform students participating in activities or competitions will temporarily remove or cover facial piercings, and male cadets with long hair will adhere to female hair standards.

Does a student have to join the military service after high school?
JROTC is not a recruiting program. STUDENTS ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO SERVE and will not be pressured to join any military service. JROTC is a leadership and citizenship program that develops young people into leaders in our community. We teach valuable life skills to help students succeed in any career path they choose. No matter what a student chooses after graduation, they will benefit significantly by actively participating in this program.

How do I enroll?
Enroll when class sign-up occurs, or speak to a KHS counselor for a schedule change.
