Welcome Page--Mr. Pocock
Hello! My name is Chris Pocock and I'm the Social Studies Department Head at KHS. My course load typically includes Advanced Placement American History, American History, and History of the American West at Kearney High School. Additionally, my students, who take AP American History, can also take the course for dual credit through the University of Nebraska-Kearney. On top of teaching, I am also an assistant baseball coach at KHS. I've been teaching at Kearney High since 1998 and before that, I spent four years teaching at Wood River High School. I completed both my undergraduate and master's degrees at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
My wife, Kelly, is a 5th-grade teacher at Emerson Elementary and we have two children who both graduated from Kearney High. Go Bearcats!
