Welcome to a part of the Agriculture Department here at KHS. I am so excited to work with you and your student as they participate in agriculture classes throughout the school year. The courses that I focus on here at KHS are Introduction to Agriculture, Animal Science, and Plant Science.
I also have a role in being one of the three FFA advisors. Within FFA we provide students with an opportunity to look into the world of agriculture, not only through class content and on their Chromebooks, but also traveling to different agricultural related industries around the Kearney area.

Course Descriptions:
Intro to Agriculture: This is an introductory course in agriculture, food, and natural resources. It focuses on the study of agriculture and the eight career pathways, their interrelationship and the impact of increase human involvement in these systems.
Plant Science: The focus of this course is on the broad study of the basic principles of facts related to the plant science field and food and fiber crops produced within the United States.
Animal Science: This course focuses on the world of food and animal production. It includes world food production, genetics, livestock management and feeding, beef, dairy cattle, sheep, swine, poultry and horses.
