Mrs. Rehtus - KHS Math Teacher
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Mrs. Tammy Rehtus, and this year I will be teaching Honors Pre-Calculus and Algebra 2 at Kearney High School.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education - Mathematics from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Masters of Curriculum & Instruction - Mathematics from Chadron State College. Overall, I've been in education for 20+ years. My experience includes the following:
- Fremont High School (5 yrs)
- Central Community College - Hastings Campus (Adjunct - 6 yrs; Faculty - 2 yrs)
- Horizon Science Academy High School - Columbus, Ohio (3 yrs)
- Kearney High School since 2019 (6 yrs)
Overall, I have a thorough knowledge of the mathematics curriculum as well as experience reaching the struggling student to challenging the honors student!
My husband, Ben, and I have 4 children. Brigitte just graduated from UNMC and is working as a RN at Good Samaritan Hospital; Blake is studying biological systems engineering at UNL; Kaitlyn is a junior at Kearney High School; and Cole is a freshman also at Kearney High School.
