Welcome to my page! I’m so glad you stopped by!

 

I have been teaching since 2015, and I've been a Kearney High Bearcat since 2019! I’m excited to serve as the Director of Theatre at Kearney High School, as this is a culmination of Theatre education and more than thirty years of theatrical experience, working in community theater and professional theater centers such as New York and Los Angeles, as well as unique areas such as Branson, Missouri and Kaktovik, Alaska, an Eskimo village on an island in the Arctic Ocean, just off the Northern Coast of Alaska. 

 

My educational background includes:

*A.A. Theatre from the Central Community College (CCC)

*B.A. Theatre/Theatre Design & Technology minor, Univ. of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK)

*M.F.A Theatre Production and Stage Mgmt, California Institute of the Arts (CalArts)

 

I have Nebraska Teaching Endorsements in Language Arts and Theatre. I am an avid supporter of the Arts in Education and believe that the Arts are foundational to education at all levels.Theatre is a subject best learned through mentoring, and in a “hands-on” environment to enhance the student’s knowledge and understanding. I’ve taught students at the elementary, secondary and college levels. I love all aspects of Theatre, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with my students.

 

My theatre and production experience includes:

  • Directing and Performance at the college and community theater levels;
  • Producer of art exhibits, concerts, theatre, dance performances and benefits;
  • Stage and Production Manager for theatrical, concerts, dance and multi-performance festivals;
  • Design and technical experience in Scenic, Costume, Lighting and Sound elements;
  • Independent film management experience as Production Manager, Line Producer and Assistant Director.
